As part of the development of the Health Service Executive, a National Ambulance Service was established in 2005. The objective is to provide clinically appropriate and timely pre-hospital emergency care and patient/client transport services.

The Challenge

The National Ambulance Service, North West, required a sophisticated solution that would integrate with their back-office emergency response system to improve response times for medical emergencies. Being able to identify the vehicle closest to an incident would significantly boost reaction times, translating into better patient care.

Celtrak provided the technology to provide real-time locations of the ambulances but also integrated the system with the back-office emergency response system to provide up to date location information.
