History

Celtrak was born out of the highly successful Irish automotive electronics company Connaught Electronics Limited (CEL) in the late nineties.

Incorporated as a separate company in 2000, Celtrak was one of the first providers of Fleet Management systems to the logistics industry in Ireland and Europe. Today, Celtrak's Fleetwatch product is used by more than 200 companies around the world and considered an industry leader for its performance and functionality.

Celtrak has pioneered speed monitoring, driving behaviour and vehicle location services for the public with the Axa Insurance Traksure product. This product proved that Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) could reduce speed and save lives.

Celtrak has continued development and manufacturing links with CEL which was acquired by French group Valeo in July 2007 and engage in partner programs on an international scale.

In December 2007, Groupe Egis, one of Europe's major engineering companies in the field of transportation infrastructure joined Celtrak as a major investor and partner.
